In 2 weeks I'm going on vacation to Croatia and I was wondering if there are any places I 'must see' and if there's anything I should avoid.

I am not from Croatia, but live relatively nearby (Serbia) :)

You should def visit Dubrovnik if you have chance, and whole region of Istra is great.

I was several times on Hvar and def I would go there again. I was also on Mararska riviera, and it is great also island Krk.

Three years ago I was on one day trough Split old town its ok to visit if you have time and if you like Roman Culture there is Diocletian's Palace

What do you like, natural sights, tourist attractions or historical monuments ?

Plitvice lakes (national park) are also very nice (bit it is not that near Adriatic coast). All in all Croatia is very nice country if you like clean sea, nice food and beautiful women :)

DISCLAIMER: All of this is just my opinion :) based on my tourist travels trough Croatia (some of it is more than 10 yrs old)

Last year I went to Italy and went to the largest waterfall in Italy, the Cascata delle Marmore. Loved that. Also visited some of the history places like Pompei and the Colosseum in Rome and the tower of Pizza. Also went up the volcano near pompei (forgot the name), that was very cool.

All in all, Italy was a lot of fun with a good combination between nature / history. Though, I do think I like nature more.

So if I'd had to say "what do I like the most": nature sights > historical > tourist stuff.
