Request a way to specify a ship and ship fitting to use based on Mission. For example, be able to use either a Tengu or Golem and then have mission specific hardeners / drones / ammo. Possibly use the saved fitting setups in the fitting manager. Also be able to change whether the bot speed tanks or not, based on mission.

Bump. This and cap booster support are 2 most needed features in Questor.

I agree that (to me, at least) this is the single most useful/needed feature I've seen requested so far. I like to fly a permatanked Raven ever since losing one in an easy mission to a disco while warp scrambled (not to mention I tend to get distracted while running missions and it's handy to not have to micromanage the shields), and the combination of perma and omni tank just doesn't cut it for level 4's. Guess I'm gonna have to bite the bullet and change my fit.

this feature would be great. not only would this improve your tank but it can reduce the gank value of your ship.

I might look into reading fittings off the fitting manager. That might actually work. Would allow easy setup by people.

Hell Ravens are cheap. Why not just just read the ship name out of the mission xml file and swap to it rather then the character xml?

Have a different raven for each damage tank. Crude but would be easy to implement.

Since raven's are cheap, but faction fitted Golem's tend to cost a bit ;)

Yeah I going to mention it no one had. Just use saved load outs. Will work like a charm of it's easy for you to access that list. It'll auto equip the load out even with one button press.

How do you setup a new ship layout? Is that always through the fitting manager or is there a 'virtual fittings manager' ?

Not sure what do you mean by 'virtual', but yes - some people save configs for every mission in the fitting interface. I don't care to run through 28 config settings, so I do it manually - unfit unnecessary, fit needed modules from hangar.

How do you script that, btw?

Code:
п>ї<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
<mission>
  <combatShipName>Shuttle</combatShipName>
  <weaponGroupId>0</weaponGroupId>
  <minimumShieldPct>60</minimumShieldPct>
  <pockets>
    <pocket id="0">
      <actions>
        <action name="Activate">
          <parameter name="target" value="Acceleration Gate" />
        </action>
      </actions>
    </pocket>
    <pocket id="1">
      <actions>
        <action name="MoveTo">
          <parameter name="target" value="Acceleration Gate (Locked Down)" />
        </action>
        <action name="Done" />
      </actions>
    </pocket>
  </pockets>
</mission>

This is my code for "Recon (2 of 3)". It just doesn't work - it doesn't switch ship to a shuttle. Moreover, if I put my char in shuttle manually, it switches back to my combat ship...

Or you mean it would be good idea to implement, but it is not implemented yet?

You can just press "Save" based on your current ship. You save it as whatever name you want, whether to Personal or Corporate (shares with corp duh). Then later you can click on browse, then choose a loadout, then Fit. It'll go WHAM BAM and pull in the fittings from your hanger to your ship. Usually it'll give you a popup message/confirm informing you that Rigs won't be fit or something, so you can just close that.

It really is quite perfect for this. The bot itself only has to manage to open Ship Fitting, Click Browse, choose an item in the list by name, click Fit. Done.

Edit: I think I see what you mean by Virtual. I dunno about all that, I just do the simple way. Just fit your actual current ship how you want it saved, then click Save. Nothing fancy.

This would really be an awesome feature of the bot. Could save some major ISK by not having to omni-tank and improve ISK/H.

+1

This feature would be truly awesome. And it should be easy to implement some sort of recognition of loadout names and/or ask user to set standards manually.

I agree too, would be a very nice feature for Questor and made it way easier to get a "save" fitting

yeah you just fit the ship how you want with whatever hardners click save, call it for eg the faction you want to tank against ie Sansha/Serpentis etc

Then change the hardeners for another faction and save, do this for all possible types of faction and your set.

Could be a way to make questor pick the relavent faction that corresponds to the current mission faction. ie Angel Extra is offered and it goes to browse>strategic cruiser>Angel and fits!!

Would be really good and would sae omni tanks on my tengu and ive have a spare slot :D
